Why We Give
God, by His abundant grace, has given us all that we have. We are called to be good stewards of everything; of our money, our time, and our talents—for God’s kingdom and God's glory. Therefore, because of the riches we have in Christ, our Lord calls us to give cheerfully of our tithes and offerings.
What Our Gifts Support
Your tithe and giving is used by our elders to cover church expenses, including worship, missions, ministries, outreach, salaries, facility maintenance, and mortgage. After prayer and much planning and prioritizing, the yearly budget is adopted to meet the goals of our ministry in this place at this time. In addition to giving to the general budget, our church family can elect to give their donations to special line items, like our mortgage, missions, and memorial fund, allowing them to support specific areas of the budget that may have special meaning to them. Once a designated need is met or there is no longer a need, the church will then use any remaining funds where they are needed the most, as determined by the elders.
We encourage our church family to give to the church through the general operating budget, without strings attached. Hopefully donors will pray with us and trust the elders to understand, prioritize, and balance all the needs of the church through our budget process.
How We Can Give
Online Giving - Via a Pushpay interface, you can make secure online donations, either one-time or recurring, from either your bank funds or a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).
Collection Plate - We welcome checks or cash placed in an offering basket during a Sunday service.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - By completing a form and providing a cancelled check, you can authorize recurring transfers directly from your checking account into ours. The amount and frequency is totally at your discretion and can be changed or revoked at any time.
Bill Pay - Sign up through your bank to take advantage of this option. A check will be mailed directly from your bank to First Presbyterian Church Haines City. Once again, the amount and frequency is totally at your discretion and can be changed or revoked at any time.
Kiosk - Using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), you can make a one-time donation through the kiosks located in the Hospitality Center and the Living Room on Sunday morning.
IRA Gifts - Are you 70 1/2 or older? If yes.....did you know you can give to FPC directly from your IRA? The amount given counts towards your minimum required distribution (MRD) and, if you do not itemize deductions, the withdrawn amount is tax free. The transfer (gift) must go directly from your IRA to FPC. Total gifts cannot exceed $100,000 per year AND must be given outright. (NOTE: This information is intended to be informational and educational in purpose. You should seek the advice of your IRA custodian, accountant or attorney for applicability to your own personal situation.)

The General Fund consists of 143 expense accounts, and your gift helps to cover all of them. This General Fund is sub-divided into seven purpose-driven disciplines which are sometimes referred to as the seven M's: Magnification (Worship), Membership (Fellowship & Discipleship), Ministry (Service), Missions (Benevolence & Evangelism), Management (Church Administration), Maintenance (Church Operations), and Mortgage (Debt Reduction & Capital Improvements). With your support of the General Fund we will be able to do everything planned in all 143 expense accounts.
Our 20 year mortgage started with a principal of $2.5 million, and it is currently less than $1 million. The monthly payment of $15,800 is due by the 15th of each month until December, 2022. Your support will greatly improve our ability to remain current with our mortgage payments.
